small is an initiative by jessica jenkins together with department 21 at the royal college art which aims to integrate questions of childcare and creativity.
small seeks to challenge the idea that children are somehow incompatible with professional life and that they are simply an interuption to our creativity.
small aims to find ways in which children are no longer to be feared for and to be feared, so that we no longer imagine a world of adult predators from which children have to be separated, or children as a disturbance and nuisance, but put children back in to the heart of our creative activities.
rather than an organisational nightmare and drain on resources, small aims to make having children around while studying a very positive choice.
